Location
The location of the homes is ideal on the quiet Rauduskoivunkuja, which is currently under reconstruction to be completed by the end of 2020. Access to the homes is through the end of the road without passthrough traffic (cul de sac). Outdoor trails start from your front door and you have direct access to Pohjois-Tapiola and Mankkaa schools without crossing a single road. Tapiola commercial centre and the expanding Sports Park with metro stations are still just a short walking distance away.
Overall design
Modern Scandinavian-style wooden houses are designed by award-winning architect Mikko Nissilä / MINIMO Architecture. The outlook is minimalistic, modern and timeless. The homes are designed so that you will feel the space immediately when you enter. Part of the windows run from the floor to the ceiling. The living room height is 5 meter with acoustics planned out — that’s where your thoughts get focus and the mind will rest.
Gardens
We have placed special attention to the usability and comfort of the gardens. Large terraces open towards west and south. Every house has also a separate roof terrace and covered space for bicycles and outdoor tools. Technical space is located in a warm storage room with access through a separate door.
Technology
The homes will have fiber optic Internet connections. Every house has also a high voltage charging outlet for a hybrid or fully electric car in the carport in addition to regular outlets.
Energy efficiency
Our homes are certified as the highest possible energy class A. The homes utilise ecological geothermal heating with optional cooling and the heat is distributed through underfloor design. Every house has a separate heating system.
Green living
We strive for ecological home building through the use of wooden frame and wooden fibre as the main insulation. The homes do not have plastic vapour barrier in walls or ceilings, which has been typical in the local construction. These homes “breath” like traditional log houses. We aim to select all materials so that volatile organic compounds (VOC emissions from e.g. glues and paints) are minimized and the indoor air quality is top notch.
